The board of directors of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) decided on Thursday (05/04), unanimously dismissing the appeal filed by Nova Rotas Consortium, led by Odebrecht, against enabling Aeroportos Brasil Consortium, led by Triunfo, winning bidder for the expansion, maintenance and operation of Viracopos International Airport in Campinas.
In an extraordinary meeting in Rio de Janeiro, the board also endorsed the outcome of the contest and awarded grants from the auction of three privatized airports:Guarulhos, Viracopos and Brasilia. On the timeline of the process, the signing of the concession contracts of the three airports will be on May 25.
The granting of the three airports, which auction took place on February 6, the Union will receive R$ 24.5 billion, almost five times the minimum value of R$ 5.47 billion provided by the government. The higher premium (673.39%) was offered by the Consortium Inframérica, who won the event from the International Airport of Brasilia with the proposal of R$ 4.51 billion by the consortium Inframérica. In Guarulhos, the Consortium Invepar ACSA won with bid of R$ 16.213 billion (premium of 373.51%). The Consortium Aeroportos Brasil won the competition for Viracopos, offering R$ 3.821 billion (premium of 159.75%).
The three airports are responsible for the 30% movement of passengers, 57% loadand 19% of aircraft around the country. Dealers should complete the expansion andmodernization of airports to the World Cup 2014. The penalty for noncompliance is R$150 million, an additional R$ 1.5 million per day of delay.
