The Swiss company Dufry, responsible for the flag Duty Free, whose stores have tax exemption of imported products, confirmed on Friday (16) to renew the contract to operate in the airport of Guarulhos. This new license extends until 2016.
Brazil represents about 25% of world sales of the company, according to the chief executive, Julian Diaz. According to him, Brazil is a priority goal for the company.
The total cost for the renovations of the shops in the new contract that was signed on Friday was not informed, but according to Diaz, the investment will be offset by the return that the renovation will bring.
In total, Dufry has nine stores tax free inside of Cumbica. Will be extended only two stores that are in Terminal 2, a boarding and disembarkation in another.
The investment in the renovation and expansion of these two stores will be US$ 40 million by April 2013, deadline for the completion and opening of stores. The remaining stores will be remodeled after the delivery of the first two and there is still expected time and investment value.
