Since last Monday (14), the Pinto Martins International Airport in Fortaleza, won direct flights to Rome, Italy. The flights that link the capitals are of Alitalia, brought by the state board of Tourism (Setur), aiming at attracting tourists strategic market.
Flights in Boeing 777 aircraft, will happen twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, and take about 9 ½ hours.
This way, Ceará may receive tourists from different countries, through fast connections, like Abu Dhabi (UAE), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Beirut (Lebanon), Cairo (Egypt), Geneva (Switzerland), Istanbul (Turkey) , Moscow (Russia), Paris (France), Tel Aviv (Israel), Tunis (Tunisia), among others.
Alitalia is considered the 19th largest airline in the world and has flights to 86 destinations like Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, in Brazil, and Caracas (Venezuela) and Buenos Aires (Argentina), in South America.
The airport currently has direct routes already in Lisbon, Milan, Amsterdam, Praia (Cape Verde) and Rome.
