Through a satisfaction survey that assessed 39 services in each airport, SkyTrax heard more than 12 million travelers from 108 different nationalities to get the result: a ranking of the best airports in the world.
The second place last year, the Singapore airport, this year won first place, which in 2012 went to the airport that caters to Korean capital, Seoul.
The Singapore Airport has four terminals connected by a monorail system, which has seven stations and separate lines for passengers who are connecting.
Terminals 1, 2 and 3 offer various services such as food courts, rest rooms, spa and Nature Trail, which are themed gardens for visitors. The airport has the capacity to receive 66 million passengers per year.
To the same survey was developed over two rankings as the best domestic airport, having Tokyo Haneda as first, and the best low cost, which was highlighted as the London Stansted.
Among the airports of South America, the Airport Jorge Chaves Lima got the best placement. The terminal serves 13 million passengers annually. Already the best position achieved by a Brazilian airport, was conquered by the Guarulhos International Airport, the fourth among airports in South America, followed by Galeão. The airport of Recife and Congonhas also appear in the top ten South American.
