The Spanish company World Duty Free Group, which operates in the duty free shops, or stores where prices have no taxes, is in contention to bidding to decide which company will manage the stores in the airport terminal three of Cumbica , located in Guarulhos.
The result with this decision must be announced next month. The winning company will manage a store with an area of 6,000 square meters.
The Spanish company has experience in the airport of Belem, Brazil, and about 570 other stores in 137 airports in 20 countries.
According to the company’s president, José Maria Palencia, Guarulhos airport is a priority for the group, as it is the largest international airport in the country.
The World Duty Free is a part of Autogrill Group, and is administered by the Benetton family. In 2012, the company achieved revenues of 2 billion euros and a profit of 100 million euros.
