The Brazil increased two positions, coming to seventh place in the ranking of the countries that hosted events in the world in 2011. The information is from the annual reportof the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), released on Wednesday (9).
In all, the country received 304 events classified as international, representing agrowth of 10% over the previous year, when 275 events were held.
The Brazil now appears as the only Latin American country among the top 10 rankingin the international entity. The growth of events captured by the country was 390%since 2003, year of creation of the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism.
ICCA’s report also reveals that increased from 48 to 57 the number of Brazilian cities that received congresses and conventions last year.
