According to a decision of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday (16), the flights of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is temporarily suspended until safety can be proven after the accidents involving the same model of Japonese companies.
The reason for the decision was another Boeing 787 that made an emergency landing in Japan, being the newest incident between a number of occurrences of the plane that many saw as “the future of commercial aviation.”
For U.S. operators make flights with Boeing, they should “demonstrate that the batteries are safe and are in line with safety regulations.”
For now, the United States, the only company affected is United, which has six Boeing 787.
The Japan Airlines flights on Wednesday and Thursday were suspended and another Japanese company, All Nippon Airways (ANA), remove of the air 17 Boeings. The two companies have almost half of the 50 units of the models already delivered by Boeing.
